Caspian Cafe

The Caspian Café takes you to the heart of the Mediterranean. Our recommendation is to order several of their starter plates and share them. The hummus, baba ghanouj, tzatziki, and falafel are made in-house, and they also have some creative dishes like feta chips and Mediterranean pizza. Stop by for happy hour for great prices on martinis and discounted entrees.

Bird dog barbecue

The Bird Dog Barbecue is a straight, large portion barbecue grill. Choose from pulled pork, brisket, turkey, sausage (Hot Link or Polish), ribs or chicken, add a few classic sides, and you'll be full for a day or two. When you're really hungry, order the doghouse, an open sandwich with your choice of meat topped with both sausages and smothered in beans and cheese.

Carlos' bistro

Carlos' bistro has an old school charm and a menu everyone will enjoy. While Carlos' Bistro is certainly a great place for a romantic dinner, it's really good for any kind of special occasion. Carlos' chef offers many classic gourmet menus such as caviar and filet mignon, but there are also some typical dishes on the menu, such as paella, that will surprise and delight. The cocktails are wonderful too, try a Vail Old Fashioned or for dessert, the Creamsicle Cocktail.

Edelweiss German restaurant

What could be better on a cool Colorado Springs night than hearty German food at Edelweiss? Not much it seems, especially when pairing your meal with one of the German beers on tap. The Edelweiss specialties include Wiener schnitzel, Hungarian goulash and bratwurst. The beer selection comes from Germany and you can order a flight so you are not limited to one.

Kohnami sushi

Sushi from Kohnami Sushi combines simple, traditional Japanese cuisine with the flair and creativity that Americans love in their sushi rolls. Kohmani is a great place for dinner (order multiple rolls and share) but they also have an unbeatable lunch special. What Kohmani lacks in ambience and decor, it makes up for with fresh fish and original rolls.

Paravicini's Italian bistro

Paravicini's Italian bistro serves classic Italian dishes that you cannot prepare at home. Order the cod or the rigatoni Carmella and you'll know what we're talking about. While you might be tempted to order your own food, consider family service if you are dining with six or more people. Paravicini's is a great place for the family, and the desserts are phenomenal too, so try space.

Pepper Tree Restaurant

Attention Steak Lovers: Pepper Tree is a must see if you live or visit in Colorado Springs. Pepper Tree is a steakhouse through and through, but that doesn't mean they're shy about being creative. Four of their signature dishes (you should order one) are table side prepared, and if you're not a steak lover there are plenty of seafood options, like wild salmon and lobster tail.

The blue star

The blue star is perhaps the trendiest restaurant in Colorado Springs; It is part of the American Bar and Grill and part of the Tapas Lounge. Our tip is to enjoy a cocktail and a few tapas in the lounge and then go to the restaurant. The tapas are definitely American-inspired with a twist, like the Corner Post pork belly simmering over crispy sushi rice.

Ethiopian restaurant Uchenna

For a change of pace, try Uchenna's in Colorado Springs. Culinary, Uchenna's Ethiopian restaurant is a bit of an underdog, but it fits in with one of the best restaurants in the area. Uchenna's has two menus, an Ethiopian and a Mediterranean, and we recommend you try the Ethiopian. The meat is marinated with twelve Ethiopian spices and served with classic Ethiopian dishes such as misser wat (a spicy lentil soup).
