How does someone confirm an event

Manage Exchange meeting invitations on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Learn how to use the Calendar app to manage Microsoft Exchange meeting invitations.

With the calendar app, you can invite colleagues to meetings, forward meeting invitations, suggest new meeting times, and much more.

  • An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS
  • An account for Microsoft Exchange 2010 or newer

Invite colleagues to a meeting

  1. Open the Calendar app, then tapto create a new event. To edit an existing event, tap the event, then tap Edit.
  2. Tap on "Participants".
  3. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite, then tap Done. As soon as you have tapped on "Done", all participants will receive an email in which they can accept, reject or accept the invitation with reservations.

Forward a meeting invitation

With some Exchange servers, participants have the option of inviting other participants.

  1. Open the Calendar app, then tap an event.
  2. Tap on "Edit".
  3. Tap on "Participants".
  4. Tap "Add Participant".
  5. Enter the new attendees' email addresses, then tap Done. If this is a regular meeting, tap “Save this event only” or “Save all future events”.
  6. On the Edit Event screen, tap Done.

Propose a new meeting time

All participants can suggest a new time * for a meeting in the calendar app.

  1. Open the Calendar app, then tap an event.
  2. Tap on "Propose a New Appointment".
  3. Select a new appointment from the list of available options.
  4. Tap on "Done".

The calendar app sends a notification to the organizer about the proposed appointment. The organizer can accept or reject the proposed date. He can also send an email reply. If the organizer accepts the new appointment, the meeting will be postponed accordingly.

Cancel a meeting

  1. Open the Calendar app, then tap an event.
  2. Tap on "Delete Event".
  3. Tap "Delete Event" again to confirm.

The calendar app notifies all meeting attendees that the meeting has been canceled.
