In the summer, most of the visitors come here for thespectacular hiking trails to explore or to camp at one of the many campsites in the area. In winter, families from the United States come here to hit the slopes at ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is just outside of Las Vegas and is one of the most popular hiking areas in Nevada. The most noticeable feature are the massive ones red rock formationsthat high above the Mojave Desert protrude. However, the area encompasses a wide variety of locations and geological formations. Ice Box Canyon and Keystone Thrust views are some of the highlights. A scenic drive of around 21 km through the park offers a great view to some of the attractions, but the trails in Red Rock Canyon provide the best access to all of them major sights. Climbing, road biking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnics, and wildlife viewing are popular activities here.
