Play videos on the iPad: this is how it works

If you want to transfer your videos to iPad and play them, there are a few things to consider. We'll show you how to do it.

  • In order for the video to run on the iPad, it needs the right format. A small rule of thumb: If the video is played in iTunes, it will also work on the iPad.

iTunes: Transfer video to iPad

Once you have successfully converted the video to the appropriate format, you can copy it to your iPad using iTunes. If you have not installed iTunes, the process also works using the CopyTrans Manager tool.

  1. Start iTunes and connect your iPad to your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Click on the menu button at the top left and select the option "Add file to media library".
  3. Select the video from your computer and confirm the process with the "Open" button.
  4. Now click on the film with the mouse and drag it to the iPad symbol above.
  5. Then the video is transferred to the iPad. You can now find the film in the "Videos" app.
