Hygienic hand disinfection - instructions

Remove rings, watches, bracelets, and other hand jewelry before disinfecting. Gently remove visible dirt. Then do the following:

1. Wet your dry hands with the solution (approx. 3-5 ml) or with the wet wipe (leave the wet wipe between your hands as you proceed).

2. Place your palms on top of each other and distribute the disinfectant on the inner surfaces.

3. Grasp your wrists and rub them in a circular motion.

4. Run your right hand over the back of your left hand and vice versa. Spread your fingers as you do so. This is also how you disinfect the spaces between your fingers.

5. Put your palms on top of each other and rub in the disinfectant. Again, make sure to wet the spaces between your fingers as well.

6. Rub the outside of your fingers on the palm of your other hand, clasping your hands as you go.

7. Then encircle one thumb with the other hand and rub it in. Then disinfect the thumb of the other hand in the same way.

8. Finally, rub the fingertips on the palm of the other hand.

German industrial standard:

Precise instructions for hand disinfection are regulated in accordance with DIN EN 1500.

After disinfecting, the skin is hygienically clean; additional hand washing is not necessary.

How long should hand disinfection take?

In order for pathogens to be killed, the agent must act for a sufficiently long time.

The exposure time is 2 minutes.
