What is SDLC software development
What is SDLC?
SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) is a process used in software development to define a process for planning, designing, building, testing, and deploying applications.
What is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)?
The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a reliable process for creating software that guarantees the quality and precision of the applications created. The SDLC process aims to deliver high quality applications that meet customer needs. The system development should be completed within the predefined time frame and price.
Here are the undeniable reasons why SDLC is critical to creating a software program.
It provides a framework for a traditional range of projects and achievements.
It is the best method for project monitoring and management.
It increases the visibility of the work preparation for all related stakeholders and thus supports the growth process.
It helps to increase the speed of development.
In addition, customer relationships are improved.
You have the opportunity to reduce the project risk and the overhead of the project management plan.
During the agile lifespan of software development, six specific phases determine where the job is at any given point in time and what comes next in terms of development. The various SDLC phases include collecting and analyzing requirements, designing, programming or implementing, testing, deploying and supporting.
Understanding the different SDLC phases
Given the six different life cycle phases of application development, it is important that you understand what each phase involves and why it is important to the overall development of the software in question.
The following are the phases of the software development cycle:
Planning and requirements assessment: The gathering of requirements is the most important thing in SDLC. Business analyst and project organizer conduct customer meetings to capture all customer needs, e.g. B. the best way to build to serve as the end user, what the aim of the article is, etc. A basic understanding or knowledge of that product is urgently needed before developing any product.
Define prerequisites: When the requirements analysis is complete, the next stage is to securely document the application specifications and have them accepted by those involved in the project. This can be achieved through the document "SRS" - Software Requirement Specification, which includes all product elements that are to be generated and developed during the project life cycle.
Design: At this stage, the requirements gathered in the SRS document can be used as advice on how to get the software architecture. In addition, this phase also consists of storyboarding or wireframing applications that are required for functionality. In this way, the developers either create rough working models or illustrate examples of how the program works, what it looks like, how the flow of usage moves from screen to screen and much more.
Coding or implementation : During this phase of SDLC, the exact development begins and the programming is put together. Implementation of the design begins with the script code.
Testing: After the code is generated, it is tested against the specifications to ensure that the products meet the requirements that are guided and derived through the requirements phase. During this phase, various tests are carried out, e.g. B. Unit tests, integration tests, system tests and approval tests.
Provision: If the program is approved and no errors or errors are reported, it will be deployed. Then, based on the rating, the software will be delivered unchanged or with the extension suggested in the article section. After the program is deployed, maintenance will begin.
Maintenance: It is when the customer uses the developed software that the real problems arise. At this stage, employees need to fix the issues, introduce new features, and improve features as needed. The method by which care is required for the finished product is therefore called maintenance.
The role of the SDLC phases
Crossing or blurring of lines can occur in many SDLC phases, but the importance of each phase as a different element in the general life cycle cannot be denied. Without a full analysis of customer needs or the requirements for your app or program, the required functions and desired functions, layout and development cannot continue.
The program cannot be developed without detailed design work in advance. Without qualified programmers in the project, development will be slow or fraught with problems. Without the ability to correctly test software or an app, errors can occur that affect usability and balance. It's all connected.
Waterfall version - The waterfall is a widely trusted SDLC version. Within this linear sequential version, the entire process of software development is divided into different phases.
Incremental strategy - The incremental model is not separate. The components are divided into groups at the beginning of the company. For each category, the SDLC version is followed to generate software.
V model - This type of SDLC model is used for development and testing. The stage is planned to be parallel. So there are verification levels on the one hand and the validation phase on the other.
Apart from the above, there are other popular models like the agile model, the spiral model, along with the big bang model.
In short, the application development cycle describes a methodology for improving the quality of applications and the overall application development technique.
