Summer Marjani Walker (Born April 11, 1996 in Atlanta) is an American R&B singer and songwriter from Atlanta.


Summer Walker grew up in Atlanta. She was discovered through self-made recordings of her own songs, which she published on social media in the mid-2010s. Then she was taken off the label LoveRenaissance (LVRN) contracted. There were songs like Session 32, CPR and Girls need lovewith which she laid the foundation for her career. In spring 2018 she also went on tour as an "opening act" with label colleague 6lack. Some of the first songs were on too Last Day of Summer included, their first mixtape, which was released in October of that year and immediately made it into the US album charts. A new recording by Girls need love together with Drake even made it into the top 40 of the singles charts and achieved platinum status. It also hit the charts in other English-speaking countries.

Then she worked on her first studio album. She released the single beforehand Playing games, which reached number 16 in the US singles chart and number 25 in the UK. With the album Over It it debuted at number 1 on the R&B charts and number 2 on the official US charts in October 2019. 7 other songs on the album, including collaborations with Usher and Jhené Aiko, made it into the single charts.
