Seven teams were qualified for the Club World Cup after the withdrawal from Auckland City (New Zealand) are playing six for the title: the FC Bayern as the Champions League winner in Europe, Al-Ahly (Egypt) as Africa's Champions League winner, Ulsan Hyundai (South Korea) as Asia Champions League winner, Tigres UANL (Mexico) as the Champions League winner from the North, Central America and Caribbean Association, Al-Duhail as the reigning champions of the host country Qatar - as well as the South American Copa-Libertadores winner Palmeiras Sao Paulowho defeated FC Santos with a late goal on January 30th and bought the last ticket.

game schedule

The two representatives from Europe and South America will only join the semi-finals of the Club World Cup. Here is an overview of the schedule

mode

If there is a tie after 90 minutes, there is an extra time, followed by a penalty shoot-out if necessary. Extra time would only be omitted in the games for fifth or third place. After two yellow cards, players are blocked for the next game, as well as yellow-red and red, whereby further sanctions can follow. If a suspension can no longer be served during the Club World Cup after being sent off, it will be carried over to the club's next competitive match. The video evidence is used.

TV

As in the previous year, DAZN shows the Club World Cup live, the streaming provider joins the first semifinals. The two Bayern appearances in Qatar can be seen on DAZN. BILD LIVE also broadcasts FC Bayern's games at the Club World Cup on its platforms.

particularities

FC Bayern could win the Club World Cup, which has been held since 2000, for the second time after 2013. Three days before their semi-finals on February 8, Bayern are still challenged in the Bundesliga at Hertha BSC, four days after the final or game for third place against Arminia Bielefeld.

Unlike planned, it is the penultimate edition of the tournament in this format: The new version with 24 teams and horrific prize money, which was originally planned for June 2021 in China, has been postponed indefinitely. In December, the well-known mode will be played in Japan with seven teams. What is new this year: led by the Brazilian Edina Alves Batista, a referee team will whistle for the first time. German referees are not included.
